Petrol in a diesel car is the most common mistake due to the difference in nozzle sizes, this is quite common so you’re not alone in putting petrol in a diesel car!
We specialise in the safe removal of petrol from diesel cars. We are kept up to date with any developments, such as high pressure diesel injection systems, that might need a specific approach to flush contamination petrol from the components.
Our technicians are trained in all the latest diesel and petrol fuel systems and the latest fuel drain techniques. All our technicians are accredited with SPA (Safety Pass Alliance) Passport certification.
We are able to drain your vehicle at the roadside, and provide enough diesel to get you to the nearest petrol station. Regardless of the type of vehicle, petrol or diesel, we can assist.
Our vans are fitted with the latest equipment, all fully ATEX Approved and waste fuel tanks that are certified UN compliant. Our technicians are trained to ADR standards, and carry Health and Safety and fire training certificates proving their competence to handle waste diesel and petrol by products.
Diesel in a petrol car is more uncommon due to the difference in nozzle sizes, with the diesel nozzle being a larger diameter than the petrol.
Diesel in petrol. Again, it is highly recommended that the petrol car or motorbike is not started. In this instance a mobile petrol/ diesel drainage company such as AFF, who can attend the scene of the breakdown swiftly, should be utilised to remove all of the contaminated diesel/ petrol. From here the car or bike should be a simple re start. If they have been started, or driven, they will require a thorough flush through once the drain has been completed with the correct petrol. This process will normally take at least 50% longer to carry out than if working on a diesel engine equivalent. However, once completed the petrol car or bike should start quickly, initially producing a fair quantity of smoke while any diesel residue is burnt off, then running as before the mis-fuelling by means of incorrect diesel fuelling.

I had driven my 1972 MGB roadster (GOH687L) for 14 years now and last year we did 2000 miles around the coastlines of Scotland, so I do know her well! I went to fill up with petrol and I unwittingly filled the tank with diesel!
Your technician arrived having responded to an AA request and sorted the problem. What a gentleman, he was, kind, considerate, and such a superb advertisement for your service. He took time, despite the rain, to do a great job.I cannot praise your service enough, THANK YOU!
Dave came out to rescue me today in Dorking, Surrey and I just wanted to send you a message to say how great he was… He went to great lengths to give me some reassuring statistics about how many people a day do it. I still felt like a t**t but at least one was in good company!
Outstanding service that made a less than ideal morning into a not so bad after allone. I have duly raved about you on my FB page! Thanks again! Nicole McGrath
I would like to say a "big thank you" to your company and Dave who spent hours fixing my Renault Clio on Tuesday 13th February 2013, after I filled it up with what I thought was petrol and it turned out to be "water" at a petrol station on Sunday!
It appears to have recovered after I drove it up and down the M40 last night for a couple of hours. I have filled it up again and petrol gage is now working which is good, no problems starting and drove to work without any problems today. Great customer service and very professional throughout..Many thanks again! Angie Lee (Slough)
