The indiscriminate nature of vehicles

A good example of the indiscriminate nature of vehicle mis fuelling cropped up on Sunday. A Dutch gentleman had been playing golf at Wentworth in Surrey, and after he’d finished his round he had to make his way to Dover to catch a late crossing back to mainland Europe. He’d set off for the M25 and decided to fill up at the petrol station on the Egham roundabout. This was when his day took a turn for the worse when he accidentally filled up with petrol.

Without realising his mistake he drove away from the garage and made it as far as the last roundabout before the M25 when the worsening performance from his engine indicated what had happened. Fortunately he conducted a search on his mobile device and gave AFF a call. We were able to attend within 50 minutes, and had the vehicle flushed and re started within a further 30 minutes. The owner seemed confident that he’d still make his crossing
